Description
Engraved map, 56.8 x 49, issued by Frederick de Wit in Amsterdam, probably in 1675, in his atlas of 27 maps. Re-issued by L. Renard in 1715 in the "Atlas de navigation." This is taken from Blaeu's map, 354, with some names omitted. It differs from the ordinary Mar del Zur maps in not showing much south of California and in extending west to Japan. It shows the discoveries of De Vries of 1643. The cartouche depicts Magellan and Neptune.
