Plants of all kinds fill the Mira Mar Nursery located at the intersection of American Avenue and Third Street in Long Beach. On one side of the nursery is the El Capitan Apartments, a three-story, brick building. On the other side of the nursey, Blake, Muffitt & Towne Paper is in another three-story, brick building. A truck with the logo "Acme Transfer" is parked at the curb in front of the nursery. Trolley lines run above the intersection.
