Description
Photo taken from Ethel or Molino avenues, facing north. The intersection lower-center is Hill Street and East Blithedale Avenue. Oakdale Avenue is at top of Hill Street and the cross streets below Oakdale Avenue are Buena Vista and Sunnyside avenues. Mountain View Avenue is at lower right. The following note on back of the print identifies buildings: "Large building on left side of Hill at bottom was a grocery store and it burned in 1924-service station was built on site in 1929. Hill Street was a dirt road when development of area in this photo. Most of these houses were built in 1907/08. Hair care-formerly a laundry was built in 1916 (bottom right of Hill ). My guess the the photo was taken in the late teens."
