Description
"Day after Christmas '21 on a hike near Kityang. We climbed the hills in background, had lunch here, visited 2 monasteries, a broken pagoda on top of highest hill. Coming down we found this half-buried stone horse at the side of a grave. Horses are comparatively rare here now. It is spirit horse for departed spirit! L to R, Miss Aston, watering the animal, Mr. Giedt (with shotgun), Miss Bohn, Mabel Lesher, Miss Smith, PFC and 2 hats." A group of missionaries around a sculpture of a spirit horse.
