Photograph caption dated October 14, 1957 reads "Great Dane, 'Baron,' leans down to investigate six-week-old pup, 'Spotty,' at San Fernando Valley Humane Society, 15924 Arminta St., Van Nuys. Dane was brought to shelter suffering from malnutrition and will be placed in home when is (sic) sufficiently recovered. Home will also be sought for pup by non-profit organization, when he is old enough. Society is seeking homes for 11 dogs and two cats now taking refuge at shelter."
