San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station is located along the ocean near San Clemente, Calif. and is owned 80% by Southern California Edison and 20% by San Diego Gas and Electric. It has been in commercial operation since January 1968, and has a generating capacity of 450,000 kilowatts.
