Description: Formed by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, this circa 1990 brochure advertises the Council To Help Attract Major Professional Sports To Sacramento (CHAMPS) group. The group promoted, encouraged, and marketed professional teams to consider Sacramento as their new home. Its annual membership called for the continued support to organize Sacramento as a “Major League City” through the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Major League Professional Sports Committee.
