The Fox Uptown Theatre was located at 1008 So. Western Avenue in Los Angeles and was built in 1925. It ran first-run movies for Fox, seating 1,600 people, and had a large roof-top sign. It was demolished in 1963. Looking down the street with a building on the right carrying a sign "Dresses, coats, hats" and beyond it the Uptown Theatre with the marquee advertising Blaine & O'Keefe, "Doll Face" and "The Hidden Eye." The roof of the theater has a giant sign declaring Fox Uptown Theatre. Architect: L.A. Smith.
