Photograph caption dated December 17, 1962 reads, "Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bates of North Hollywood celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary Sunday. Bates, 96, and his wife, Laura, 93, marked the occasion with a small gathering of friends and relatives. The pair has lived in California for the past 44 years, 12 of which they've spent in the Valley. They have two children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
