Description
World War I veterans line up outside the Los Angeles office of the United States Veterans' Bureau on February 28, 1931, to apply for bonus loans under a new act passed the day before. The lineup of veterans from all walks of life stretched from the bureau offices at 751 So. Figueroa St. around the corner, up 8th Street and around another corner on Francisco. The crowd size was estimated at 5,000 men.
