Photograph article dated May 9, 1962 partially reads, "Paul Hastings, 60, has no great desire for a trip to Europe or the Orient. After 35 years with the Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety, the last 14 of those years as chief of the Valley division, Hastings would like to relax. And well he should. His Valley office behind the municipal building in Van Nuys, staffed with 186 employes [sic], conducts about 42 per cent of the entire work load of the department."
