Description
Stereo-5625. Shows ranch buildings, meadow, mountains in background. Yellow mount, orange back. Corydon Eliphalet Cooley was born in Virginia in 1836. In 1870 accompanied army to new army post (eventually named Fort Apache) on White Mountain Reservation. Established ranch near fort, married two daughters of local Carrizo Creek Apache chief, Mollie and Cora. Worked as rancher, served with the army as scout, involved in local politics, actively promoted education for local White Mountain Apache children.
