First photograph caption dated January 11, 1961 reads "Bonfilio watches son Joey and Lee Zuckerman." The article partially reads "Joe Bonfilio, an eight-year-old Van Nuys boy, faces a delicate brain operation today which doctors say he may not survive. Joey, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carman J. Bonfilio, 5718 Calhoun Ave., officially became a Cub Scout Tuesday night in special ceremonies conducted in his home by Zuckerman."; Second photograph caption dated February 13, 1961 reads "Joey." The article partially reads "Eight-year-old Joey Bonfilio of Van Nuys, who achieved his fondest wish and became a Cub Scout before undergoing a delicate brain operation last month, today was in the midst of a series of X-ray treatments."
