Description
Photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on December 26, 1969 states: "The Sacramento River boils over the submerged Anderson-Cottonwood Irrigation District Dam in Redding as releases into the river from Shasta Dam are stepped up. The increase to 35,000 cubic feet per second has caused minor flooding in Lake Redding and Kutras Park in the city. Bureau of Reclamation officials said the releases are required to lower the lake level in anticipation of another winter storm."
