Photograph of the exterior view of the Los Angeles Times building on the northeast corner of West First Street and Fort Street (later Broadway), ca.1886. The streets are unpaved. Railway tracks line the street at right. Several horse-drawn carriages are parked along the street near the corner of the building. The building is about three-stories tall and features stone masonry brick walls and arched windows. Legible signs include: "Earl fruit", "E.E. Crandall & Co., 133-135, stoves and ranges", "Martels & Grates, tiling and brass goods", "real estate".
