Description: Mailbags are piled in a shipping area during the Christmas season. Two men are loading the bags onto a flatbed wagon with iron-rim wheels. A uniformed officer with a star on his chest watches the loading. The verso of the photo states: "Heavy mail shipment being loaded at S.P. station. Rush of Christmas mail is heaviest since 1930." Photo dated: Dec. 24, 1934.
