Photograph of a panoramic view of Hollywood looking from Lookout Mountain, ca.1930-1939. CHS-5122.1: The area appears to be more of the residential part of Hollywood. Several commercial or industrial buildings can be seen (center). There is a gazebo on top of a hill (center). CHS-5122.2: The city is thriving with business and residential buildings. Notable sites include: the Hollywood Y.M.C.A.(left), Hotel Wilcox (center), and the "Hollywoodland" sign on the mountains in the distance (upper center). Trees and palm trees are scattered throughout the landscape. At right, many early-model cars can be seen parked along the streets or in a parking lot.
