Photograph caption dated March 9, 1956 reads "Ruth Salmen, right, chief observer for West Valley Ground Observer Corps, congratulates Hazel Riley, left, and Harry Stearns after they received awards for working 1,500 hours at sky watchers' post. Mrs. Riley is post supervisor. Awards were made at meeting which stressed critical need for more observers."
