Collection of correspondence letters to Charles B. Handy concerning his book, among other topics. The first letter, from Andrew Franklin, thanks Handy for coming in to deliver his manuscript and discusses the possibility of a reprint of Handy's book, Understanding Organizations, for an Open University course based on Handy's research. The second letter, from Sue Corbett, expresses enthusiasm for Handy's upcoming work but conveys reservations concerning the organization of the book as well as content relating to private vs public organizations. The third letter, from Alan C. Kellock, discusses poor sales of Handy's book in the U.S. and how it would not be economically viable to Americanize the work and proceed with reprinting it. The fourth letter, from Andrew Franklin, communicates to Handy disapproval of the Viking decision and relates that another American publisher is interested in an Americanized version of Handy's book. The fifth letter, from Tyrrell Burgess, concerns Handy's possible participation as a member in the pilot Accrediting Council for Education. The sixth letter, from A E Matheson, praises Handy’s “thought for the day” and requests a copy of the text.
