Description
This is the second part of an audio recording of an event billed as the Ceremony to Commence Construction of Academic Complex on Pepperdine University's Malibu campus. The event was held on the Malibu property--carved into pads, but devoid of buildings--on April 13, 1971. The ceremony dedicated three core buildings of the Malibu campus: Payson Library, the Pendleton Learning Center, and the Huntsinger Academic Center. This recording continues the introduction to the main speaker by Carl Miller, former president of Rotary International. The keynote address is by rocket scientist Wernher von Braun of NASA (02:40). President William S. Banowsky gives closing thanks (11:50). 14:19
