Filip (and Inger) Engsig-Karup, sent by Danish Santal Mission to Bangladesh, 1982-96. Both trained as teachers were, following language studies, engaged in teaching and social jobs, Inger e.g. as the principal of Saraswatipur Boarding School and BLC consultant, and Filip as manager of BLM-D and Lutheran Social Services (LSS), including the Village School Program and various development activities - resulting in close contacts to local people of the area.
