Photograph caption dated June 18, 1959 reads, "Hollywood Bowl fountains dedicated. Multi-jet water fountain which will spout water to top of Hollywood Bowl's sound shell has been dedicated by Wayne Griffin, Bowl association president. New fountain will throw 2,500 gallons of water, lighted by various colored underwater lights and tower spots. Fountain was designed by world-famous designer Henry Dreyfuss and executed by S. J. Hamel, who designed 1939 New York World's Fair fountains and wa creator of Disneyland effects."
