Description
Portrait of Norman O. Houston (1893-1981) who is considered a pioneer of African-American enterprise, having co-founded Golden State Insurance with William Nickerson. At the time this photograph was taken, Houston was the president of Golden State, the co-chairman of the Regional Board of the National Conference of Christians and Jews and the Southern California General Chairman of Brotherhood Week, February 21-28. Photograph dated February 11, 1960.
