Description
For the majority of the interview, Connie and Nicholas discuss the main characters and themes in his novel. In particular, Nicholas talks about how the story of the of a real-life horse whisper who “healed” Queen Victoria’s favorite horse prompted him to write about this unique and “amazing” gift. In addition to discussing the characters and themes in his novel, he discusses a variety of real world topics like his experience living in Montana while doing research for the novel, what it means to tell a story, the importance and unimportance of critics and book reviews, and turning his novel into a film script. At the end of the interview, Nicholas reads a short section from the novel.
