Description
Photograph of Drake's Bay. "Site of possible Drake's Fort archaeological excavation, Point Reyes, Drake's Bay, Marin County, California, August 18 , 1948. Intrusive glass bottle end (green and probably 19th century) found in hole in stone floor. This hole was filled with a mixture of clay and sand, thus indicating a test hole prior to the laying of the fill over the sandy beach.
