Photograph article dated August 30, 1961 partially reads, "Air Force Secretary Eugene M. Zuckert made a hurried visit to the 146th Air Transport Wing, in Van Nuys, late Tuesday. He said the California Air National Guard unit will remain on active duty as long as it is needed. Zuckert said the orders which activate for one year the unit based at 8030 Balboa Blvd., are "a serious responsibility. Naturally we are not going to keep them on active duty and longer than the world situation warrants," he said." Zuckert tours Van Nuys Base.
