Description
This 1938 signed personal copy of the History of Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) belonged to Albert Givan, who was SMUD's first General Manager and Chief Engineer. It contains a brief history of SMUD's activities since its establishment on July 2, 1923, up to 1938. Some of the documents in this brief history are summaries on City of Sacramento water rights and studies, applications to the Public Works Administration (P.W.A.), and transcriptions of letters to and from SMUD board members.
