"Model of the History of Literature" The display case holds a series of figures from left to right chronicling human history with literature and writing. The left starts with prehistoric man, then a man carving into rock, then an obelisk and a Chinese man with a scroll, then progressing through ancient Greece, the near east, medieval printing, missionaries teaching in China, and people at desks.
