Travel Town, an outdoor museum in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, was dedicated in 1952. The Southern Pacific Company, was willing to donate an obsolete locomotive to be the first train on exhibit. The Los Angeles City Recreation and Park Department's museum is visited each week by hundreds of youngsters and adults who are interested in the development of transportation. The focus of the museum is rail transportation, but other items are on display. Photograph caption dated February 21, 1957 reads "Suspended in air above railroad tracks at Glendale's Southern Pacific passenger station is 75-ton logging locomotive which is being moved to Griffith Park's Travel Town to join other locomotives on static display 'Heisler' engine is gear driven in contrast to later locomotives which were moved by pistons. Two cranes were required to move engine."
