In the usual order for thirteenth century French bibles but with 66 prologues (the 2 extra for Obadiah and Habakkuk); see Ker, MMBL 1:96-97 regarding London, Lambeth Palace, MS 1364. Title from catalog. Support: Parchment. Script: Gothic. Layout: Collation beginning with f. 2: 1¹⁶ 2¹⁶(13, i.e. f. 30, lost but replaced, s. XV) 3-30¹⁶ 31⁶(through f. 487) 32¹⁶ 33¹⁸ 34⁴. One catchword remains, written in the lower right corner (quire 10). 2 columns of 49 lines, ruled in lead, additional double rule across the upper margin for running headlines; slash prick marks visible in the upper and lower margins. Span folios: ff. 1-525v. Decoration: Eighty-four historiated initials, 8- to 5-line (except for the letter I, running often the length of the text) in blue or maroon on grounds of these colors with some orange and gold, and enclosed by narrow gold frames; border extensions with rinceau and biting animals. These are listed by Branner, Manuscript Painting, p. 230 as among those related to the Bari atelier. Other Decoration: 7- to 4-line initials in white-patterned blue or maroon on grounds of the other color, surrounded by narrow gold frames and with border extensions. Marginal additions and corrections in the hand of the scribe, enclosed in red frames; psalms counted in early arabic numerals in lead in the margins. Assigned Date: s. XIII2.
