View of 3 wooden structures with street in foreground; at extreme right is the trunk and branch of a tree; first structure is a small 1 story with a door on left and window on right; to its left is a two story with a covered porch on 1st floor and two vertical windows below triangular roof line above; on its left and at edge of photo is a three story building with an outside staircase on its right side; on its 2nd floor is a covered porch and windows on the 33rd floor with two chimneys on roof visible. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Houses erected in the early '50's' lumber came around the horn' .in the shadow of the Sacramento Court House... House on the left, torn down in 1937..."
