Image of twenty-two head-and-shoulders vignette portraits of performers, the proprietor, and the manager of Madame Rentz's Minstrels, in formal dress, and captioned with their names: M. B. Leavitt, Prop.; Kit. Clarke, Manag.; Louisa Bliss; Alice Witherell; Bessie Bell; Georgia Powers; Louise Randell; Ella Patey; Zelina Mannheim; Marie Sontag; Caroline Sontag; Tillie [?]; Cora Cardigan; Georgia Marcotte; Eva Loretta; B.S. Hodges; Jen. Powers; Frank Bell; Alfred Huddy; David Schiff; C.F. Lindsey; and B. Kennicott.
Probable date based on show and printer history; Kit Clarke was a manager for M. B. Leavitt from 1877 until 1881 (Rice, Monarchs of minstrelsy, page 124) and Maerz operated in Buffalo for a short time around 1880. "Maerz Lith. Co. Buffalo, N.Y."--text, bottom centered. "The Century's Greatest Success"--text, banner, top of poster. "Every act new / every sketch new, everything novel, / No wornout antiqueties [sic]. / The most prosperous company in the world. / Watch for it! Wait for it!"--text, lower right of poster.
