Description
Richard H. Marriott, Mayor of Sacramento, 1968-1975. City Councilman, 1959-1968, Deputy Secretary of Health and Welfare under Jerry Brown, 1979. Known for his work supporting organized labor. Editor, Sacramento Labor Bulletin. Here, Mayor Marriott (right) is presented a good luck horseshoe plaque by John E. Gallagher, manager for enviornmental refuse management at the Continental Can Company. The horseshoe is a symbol of the city's environmental refuse management program.
