Title in full states: "Absurdity of Claremont incorporation. City Government for Claremont will mean heavy taxation--what is to be gained--incorporation will create perpetual discord--final appeal to voters." Article is a submitted plea to Claremont citizens against forming a city government simply for the street and road improvements. Warns of the costs and potential lack of benefits for the small village. At bottom, lists submitters as "George J. Mitchell, C. Seaver and Allan Towne, J. J. Becker, committee for Claremont Protective Association."
