Description
This circa 1990 aerial photograph provides a view of the William B. Pond Recreation Area, a seen from the northeast. Tabbed as the park's namesake in 1983, Pond was the first director of Sacramento County's Department of Parks and Recreation, and instrumental in securing the American River Parkway for future generations. The Jedediah Smith Memorial Bridge is visible to the left. Arden Way and Fair Oaks Boulevard intersect to the right.
