View of two buildings separated by an alley; on left is two storey structure - first floor has 2 round arched openings flanking a tall, thin rectangular opening and on 2nd floor windows; structure on the right is also 2 floors with a double-door entrance on the exreme right side of 1st floor; 3 windows to the left on 1st floor & 4 windows on 2nd floor with shutters for each;above all windows are angular ribbon flat arches; three cars parked on street, facing to left.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"John Keating, Grocer Building erected in 1879... Father of Wm. Keating, local contractor."
