Photograph was edited for publication purposes The caption refers to the 1958 fires in the Corral Canyon and Malibu Lake area of Malibu which burned over 18,000 acres, caused the loss of more than 30 homes, including the home of actor Lew Ayres, and threatened the homes of Jackie Coogan, Ronald Reagan and Bob Hope. This fire came just two years after another fire had devastated the area in December, 1956. Photograph caption dated December 3, 1958 reads, "Horses on Bob Hope's White Oak Ranch hover near fence as flames, whipped by high winds, sweep toward Las Virgenes Road. Ranch hands later took stock to safety in area burned in last week's fire. Many deer were burned to death."; See images #00114942 through #00114945 for all photos in this series.
