Description
Photograph of a bean threshing operation on the Centinela Ranch (later Inglewood), 1903. Men can be seen on the left driving several pairs of horses as they pull wooden carts full of beans to the thresher on the right. A thin tower stands at center with several men at its base who appear to be leading the beans to the thresher on the right. The thresher is connected by a thick ribbon to a smaller machine which stands next to piles of beans in the foreground. On the far left side of the thresher, men seem to be bagging beans and piling them on carts on the far right. Large stacks of beans can be seen behind the thresher through clouds of steam.
