Photograph caption dated August 23, 1956 reads "Safety factor is stressed in stringing natural gas pipeline through Valley. Unique device X-rays welding bead to detect minute flaws. Here Superintendent Bob Fuller, right, and Dewey Jones, Burbank city inspector, examine X-ray negatives." The article partially reads "A new multi-million dollar pipe-line will soon connect the San Fernando Valley directly to Texas natural gas fields.
