Photographic portrait of passengers on the Boston to Springfield, Massachusets stage coach, picturing Chester W. Chapin, President of Boston and Albany Railroad, and Charles Merriam, publisher of Webster's Dictionary, Boston, ca.1876. A footman attends one of the two frontmost horses of the coach at left, while thirteen passengers including the drivers are visible on top of the carriage to the right. Victorian-style homes with gingerbread roofing are visible along the street in the background behind trees and a painted, wrought-iron fence.
