Description
Illustrated map of Whittier-Turnbull Canyon Tour no. 6. Starting at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles, the tour goes east past the cemeteries and nurseries on Whittier Blvd., through the cities of Belvedere and Montebello, to the city of Whittier itself, illustrated with buildings for Whittier College and State School and oil derricks, including some for nearby Santa Fe Springs oil fields. The tour then goes through Turnbull Canyon (summit elevation, 1,820 ft.) to Valley Blvd., through the town of Bassett, and returns to downtown Los Angeles by Garvey Blvd. The map also illustrates the Rio Hondo and San Gabriel Rivers.
