Description
A geo-graph of formation of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, in comparison to the geo-graph of formation of the Santa Monica Mountains. Altitudes for Sierra Nevada are as follows: Coast Ranges - alt. 4000-5000 ft; San Joaquin Valley - alt. 300-400 ft; Mount Whitney - alt. 14000 ft; and Owens Valley - alt. 6000 ft. Photo dated: February 8, 1938.
