Description
One penmanship book entitled The Normal Review System of Writing, Tracing Course, No. 1, by D. H. Farley and W. B. Gunnison, published by Silver, Burdett & Co., Boston, New York and Chicago, 1889. This book is 24 pages in length, and contains 22 different exercises. The last page is a duplicate of the first, containing exercises 1 and 2. There are two exercises per page; the sample for copying in black print, with the exercises repeated below, in light blue ink, for tracing. Each lesson is to be traced four times. Instructions for proper positions, movements and notes to the teacher, along with several illustrations, are on the inside of the front cover. On the inside of the back cover is "The Normal System of Writing, A Key to Principles". On the back cover is an explanation of this system of writing, with brief outlines of the various courses within the system. None of the exercises have been completed.
