Description
This photograph, taken in August 1942, shows women at work cutting peaches in half by hand and removing the stones at Bercut-Richards Packing Company. The war-time shortage of male workers had no effect on this industry, as this scene displays a wide array of ages and nationalities preparing and packing local fruit for eventual canning.
