Description
Captain Lyman of the U.S. Army Transport Thomas, c. 1898. Returning from the Spanish American War in the Philipines, the Thomas sent the first wireless message to be received in the continental United States. This message was received at a receiving station installed at the Cliff House in San Francisco.
