Description
This circa-1955 photograph shows Folsom Lake, Folsom Dam and an unpaved boat ramp. In the distance and across the lake is Beal's Point. Mentioned as early as 1851 in the Sacramento Union, the area had been Beal's Bar up until the creation of Folsom Dam, which -- dedicated in May 1956 -- inundated the American River and its approaches.
