Marcella Craft was born in Indianapolis in 1874. Family moved to Riverside in 1887. She was a lyric soprano who studied in Boston, Milan and Munich. She was with the Royal Opera of Munich, toured the United States and Germany between 1914 and 1932. Upon her return, founded the Riverside Opera Association serving as director. She also taught. She died in 1959.
