Description
Group photo showing General William Vandever and his wife with a large group of friends and family. Group includes seven women, four men, and four children. Individuals are numbered in ink, but no identifications given. Museum records includes the following biographical information: Vandever was the first Ventura County Congressman. He represented California's 6th Congressional District from 1887-1891 as a Republican. Vandever served with the Union Army during the United States Civil War before coming to Ventura.
