Description
Shown in circa 1920 are both a stagecoach and Conestoga wagon on the grounds of Sutter’s Fort, located at Twenty-Seventh and L streets. Sitting in the background, the Conestoga proved the defining mode of transport for the colonization of the American West during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
