Description
Photograph of a view of 6th Street looking west from Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, ca.1911-1913. A majority of the buildings are above four-stories tall. Notable building is the Pacific Electric building (left). Other buildings include the Los Angeles Trust & Savings Bank building (aka Trust Building, built in 1911) located at north-west corner of Spring and 6th Streets and the First Methodist Episcopal Church (built in 1900, demolished prior to 1913, when it was replaced with the Metropolitan Building) visible in the extreme background at north-east corner of Hill and 6th Streets. Streetcar tracks line the street. Horse-drawn carriages and early-model cars can be seen parked or moving down the street. The street is busy with pedestrian traffic. Legible signs include: "P.E.
